Orientation Welcome Letter

TA&D Network Orientation

February 2011

Dear Center Director,
We would like to take this opportunity to formally introduce ourselves and welcome you to the
Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) Technical Assistance & Dissemination Network (TA&D). The Technical Assistance Coordination Center (TACC) is funded by OSEP to facilitate coordination, collaboration, and communication within the TA&D Network. We at the TACC are looking forward to getting to know you, your staff, and the services you offer, as well as providing you with orientation and ongoing support as you find your way within this elaborate network of people and resources.

To that end, we have established a TA&D Network Orientation program.  The Orientation program serves to give you and your staff an initial overview of the TACC, the TA&D Network, and the many tools that are available to you. Resources in this program include:
  • Introduction to the TA&D Network
  • Brief description of topics that we will provide training on, including: Proposed Product Review (PPR), APRs, website accessibility, Communities of Practice, listservs, GPRA, and more!
  • Listing of all current TA&D Projects and their contact information (Placemat)
  • A link to OSEP staff contact information
  • TACC staff contact information including Project Liaisons and areas of expertise
Once you have a chance to look through the program materials, please don’t hesitate to contact any of our staff with questions. As the TACC continues to develop and enhance the resources that we provide, we will be posting training modules online. We have also set aside an hour on the first Friday of each month at 2pm EST that we will be available through web conferencing to discuss any areas covered in the orientation packet.  In addition, we will be more than happy to provide one-on-one training on any of the modules or other topics as they may arise. We hope that the Orientation program will be useful to new projects and new staff at existing projects, as well as seasoned staff who are looking to add to their tool box or refresh their memories.

Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you at any time. We understand that it will take some time for you to get your feet wet, but as the "hub" of the network, the TACC is quite familiar with OSEP and the other TA&D Projects, and we are happy to serve as a point of entry into this world of resources.

Sincerely,
Michele Rovins & the TACC Staff
