TA&D Tools
TA&D Websites

The TA&D Network web site (www.tadnet.org) is designed to be a hub for the Network Centers, OSEP, and our collective audiences to find information about the centers and the latest on the federal initiatives. This site serves to link all of the centers together through the information entered there as well as links to each centers web site and resources. There are both public and private sides to the web site. The private side requires a log in and allows each user to access and update their contact information, center information, products, services and events. Once you are logged in, you will be able to access many of the tools that follow in this package.
For more information on this web site or to request a log in please contact Michele Rovins.
Centers & Activities Database
In order to provide as much information as possible about the work of all of the centers in the TA&D Network (and beyond) in one place, the TACC is tasked with creating a mega database. This database will house all of the products, services, and events of the centers. Each center is responsible for maintaining all of their own information and ensuring its accuracy. TA&D Network members work closely with OSEP and TACC to design this system to ensure it meets the needs of the audiences as well as not creating a data entry burden on the centers. This database is being designed to provide one location for OSEP, OESE, states, stakeholders and others to get the latest information on services available and delivered at the state and local level.
For more information, contact Michele Rovins or Susan Maclean.
Communities of Practice
TAcommunities is one place for Communities of Practice (CoP) within the TA&D Network.
TAcommunities takes you to the CoP page, and current communities, maintained by the TACC and participating Centers
TAcommunities provide resources and assistance to the states on issues that impact students with disabilities, they also extend current TA (technical assistance) to the states through peer-led collaboration on such topics as the SPP/APR process.
- Another place to find CoP work within the TA&D Network is tadnet.org. There you will find a list of the other communities and social networking sites supported within our Network.
- Some of the CoPs also use http://tadnet.ning.com.
Conference Registration
The TACC has built a brand new online conference registration system that is available for all TA&D Network projects to use for their own conference. Whether you are hosting a small meeting or a large conference, the registration form can be tailored to best suit the requirements of your event. Each event built will be part of its own unique mini-site, allowing conference administrators to create a set of web pages to support the conference and registration process. This system will be integrated with Freshbooks to allow centers to process credit card payments and auto-invoice. Registrants will notice added benefits such as being able to complete portions of a registration form by loading their personal information directly from their TACC/TA&D Network profile. The goal of this new system is to increase flexibility when building the form while simultaneously decreasing the time and effort it takes a registrant to complete the process.
For instructions, please see the Quick Reference Guide on Using the TACC Conference Registration System.

Discretionary Database

If you'd like to know what grants and contracts the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) has funded to improve results for children with disabilities (birth to 21), search the discretionary database.
This database offers complete listings of OSEP's grants and contracts through the SEARCH feature and in print (as Microsoft Word documents). OSEP actively funds approximately 800 grants and contracts each year, and the database includes archives of over 8,000 projects funded since electronic record keeping picked up in the 1980s.

GPRA
The Government Results and Performance Act (GPRA) requires OSEP to respond to four performance measures:
- ensuring their work is of high quality,
- ensuring relevance of the work
- ensuring the usefulness of the work and
- ensuring the cost of technical assistance per unit.
All OSEP funded centers are required to address these measures in their work.
Information about GPRA and updates from OSEP on this work are shared during a center’s kick-off meeting and regularly at the TA&D Conference (generally in March) and the Project Directors meeting (generally in July). Centers are required to report on the GPRA measures in their continuation reports due annually in April. TACC schedules informal informational calls prior to the submission of the continuation reports for centers to discuss any challenges they are facing.

IDEA
IDEA.ed.gov was created to provide a "one-stop shop" for resources related to IDEA and its implementing regulations, released on August 3, 2006. It is a "living" website that changes and grows as resources and information become available. The site provides searchable versions of IDEA and the regulations, access to cross-referenced content from other laws (e.g., the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB), the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), etc.), video clips on selected topics, topic briefs on selected regulations, links to OSEP's TA&D Network, a Q&A Corner where you can submit questions, and a variety of other information sources.

iLinc & Web Conferencing
iLinc is a web conferencing tool that integrates audio, video and presentations and can be used by TA&D Network centers to work together between centers and with their clients. Prior to a meeting, users of iLinc can upload content types such as PowerPoint, Excel and Word documents and share them with all of the participants in the meeting. Additionally, the user leading the web session can share media files, web sites and even their entire desktop. Meetings conducted in iLinc can be recorded and posted to the public sessions folder in the portal to be viewed at any time. Reports on meetings can also be generated which include detailed information such the attendee list and contact information for each participant. iLinc allows TA&D Network members to share information in an efficient and effective manner that leverages resources and saves money by not requiring as many face to face meetings.
For instructions, please see our
Quick Reference Guide to Using iLinc.

Networking/Training
TACC staff have established relationships with all of the centers across the TA&D Network. We are happy to serve in a connecting role by making introductions or setting up calls or meetings as needed to help other centers get to know each other and look for opportunities to collaborate. TACC is responsible for the "placemat" center contact document that is updated, printed and disseminated twice a year as well as being available electronically on our website- if a center would like to use the placemat at a conference or other event we are able to ship copies as needed. We aim to update the placemat twice each year so we will be contacting centers then to be sure the information we have is correct. TACC staff are available to provide training on tools and answer questions as needed. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if we can assist your center in your work. Orientation training is scheduled for the first Friday of the month and iLinc training is scheduled for the second Friday of the month (both at 2pm Eastern).

OSEP Annual Events
As part of their cooperative agreements, OSEP TA&D Projects host numerous events for the Department throughout the year. Some of these are geared
directly to the States and LEAs while others focus on the TA&D Projects themselves.
The following is a list of OSEP's Annual Events:
- Leveraging Resources Conference (hosted by TACC)
- OSEP Project Directors Conference (hosted by AIR)
- OSEP Leadership Mega Conference:
Intended audiences: National Early Childhood and Parent Centers, Part B State Directors, and Part B and C Data Managers (hosted by TACC)

TA&D Products Process
Centers and Groups that develop products participate in a process designed to:
- Facilitate communication between centers or groups and Project Officers
- Increase collaboration opportunities
- Reduce duplication of effort, and
- Share information across the network.
This online process moves from concept to public product. Here you create, edit and search products. All proposed and all finished products are searchable. Results can be filtered using both a controlled vocabulary and full-text search. Electronic communication between Project Officers and centers/groups occurs as information and comments appear on each peronsal dashboard.

Susan Maclean.
SPP/APR Calendar
This tool is used to assist States with the preparation and timely completion of the State Performance Plan (SPP) and Annual Performance Report (APR). Resources and events are posted on the SPP/APR Calendar on an ongoing basis to ensure access to the most current information.

TA&D Network Google Group
There is a Google Group (formerly a listserv) available for all members of the TA&D Network to join. You are invited to be a member of this Google Group and invite any or all members of your staff to join. Everyone who is a member of the group has the ability to send and receive messages to the entire group. The email address to send email messages to is
taandd@googlegroups.com. To join the Google Group, please send a message to
sscholl@fhi360.org, with "Join TA&D Network Google Group" in the headline. This group is used to exchange information with the TA&D Centers and their project officers at OSEP. The TACC works to ensure that all network centers are represented on the list.
For more information, contact
Michele Rovins.
Website Protocols
All OSEP funded centers that are required to maintain a web site must ensure that their web site is Section 508 compliant. This ensures that all individuals with disabilities will be able to access any information available on these sites.
Additionally all TA&D Center will be entering their data directly into the TACC databases that will be available in a variety of places across the TA&D Network of sites. This information will be maintained by each individual center. Each center will keep their information up to date so it is useful to visitors of the site including the rest of the TA&D Network. Specific information about these databases and how to enter data will be coming soon to each center.

Michele Rovins.
Workgroups
A module has been created to allow group workspace for centers across the network to work together and/or to work with their audiences. Currently
located at http://workgroups.rrfcnetwork.org this site requires a log in so it can be used to house and share confidential information. This is the place where the annual SPP/APR documents from the states have been shared with the centers doing analyses. This workspace provides a place to upload and share documents, have discussions, post news and events and easily email members of the group. Subgroups or task groups can also be created within an existing group.
