Services

SERVICES TO THE TA&D NETWORK

TA&D Website

The TA&D Network web site (www.tadnet.org) is designed to be a hub for the Network Centers, OSEP, and our collective audiences to find information about the centers and the latest on the federal initiatives. This site serves to link all of the centers together through the information entered there as well as links to each centers web site and resources. There are both public and private sides to the web site.  The private side requires a log in and allows each user to access and update their contact information, center information, products, services and events. Once you are logged in, you will be able to access many of the tools that follow in this package.

For more information on this web site or to request a log in please contact Michele Rovins

Information Database Management

Here is information about the various TA&D databases managed by TACC.

  • Products Database
TA&D Centers and Groups that develop products participate in a process designed to:
    • facilitate communication between centers or groups and Project Officers,
    • increase collaboration opportunities,
    • reduce duplication of effort, and
    • share information across our network
  • This online process takes you from concept to public product; here you create, edit and search products. All proposed and all finished products are searchable and the results filtered using both controlled vocabulary and full-text search. Project Officers review and comment on the information as it comes to their personal dashboard.

  • MY TA&D Dashboard
The TA&D Network has a new tool that is being Beta-tested by selected teams of the TA&D Network.  the dashboard is a hub for all things TA&D, allowing network members to:  stream news and social media posts, review network calender activities, post proposed products, is a centralized contacts database for all centers (that you can update yourself!) --and a central place to stay connected and get your federal, state, and network business done.

  • Centers & Activities Database
In order to provide as much information as possible about the work of all of the centers in the TA&D Network (and beyond) in one place, the TACC is tasked with creating a mega database. This database will house all of the products, services, and events of the centers. Each center is responsible for maintaining all of their own information and ensuring its accuracy. TA&D Network members work closely with OSEP and TACC to design this system to ensure it meets the needs of the audiences as well as not creating a data entry burden on the centers. This database is being designed to provide one location for OSEP, OESE, states, stakeholders and others to get the latest information on services available and delivered at the state and local level.

  • SPP/APR Calendar
This tool is used to assist States with the preparation and timely completion of the State Performance Plan (SPP) and Annual Performance Report (APR). Resources and events are posted on the SPP/APR Calendar on an ongoing basis to ensure access to the most current information.

For more information, contact  Michele Rovins.

  • Discretionary Grants Database
If you'd like to know what grants and contracts the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) has funded to improve results for children with disabilities (birth to 21), search the discretionary database. This database offers complete listings of OSEP's grants and contracts through the SEARCH feature and in print (as Microsoft Word documents).  OSEP actively funds approximately 800 grants and contracts each year, and the database includes archives of over 8,000 projects funded since electronic record keeping picked up in the 1980s.

Communities of Practice & Workgroups

Both Communities of Practice and Workgroups provide space for members of the TA&D Network to do their work. On the whole Workgroups are not available to the public and Communities of Practice are open to a wide variety of stakeholders.

  • Communities of Practice
TAcommunities is one place for Communities of Practice (CoP) within the TA&D Network. TAcommunities takes you to the CoP page, and current communities, maintained by the TACC and participating Centers. TAcommunities provide resources and assistance to the states on issues that impact students with disabilities, they also extend current TA (technical assistance) to the states through peer-led collaboration on such topics as the SPP/APR process. Another place to find CoP work within the TA&D Network is tadnet.org. There you will find a list of the other communities and social networking sites supported within our Network.

Some of the CoPs also use http://tadnet.ning.com.

  • Workgroups
Workgroups is a space for centers across the network to work together and/or to work with their audiences. Currently located at http://workgroups.rrfcnetwork.org this site requires a log in so it can be used to house and share confidential information. This is the place where the annual SPP/APR documents from the states have been shared with the centers doing analyses. This workspace provides a place to upload and share documents, have discussions, post news and events and easily email members of the group. Subgroups or task groups can also be created within an existing group.

TACC's Event Registration System

OSEP’s Annual Events include:
  • Leveraging Resources Conference (hosted by TACC)
  • OSEP Project Directors Conference (hosted by AIR)
  • OSEP Leadership Conference: This conference is intended for Parent Centers, Early Childhood and State Special Education Programs, and Part B and Part C IDEA Data Managers (hosted by TACC)
The TACC has also built an online Event Registration System (ERS) that is available for all TA&D Network centers to use for their own events. Whether you are hosting a webinar, a small meeting, or a large conference, you can customize a registration form that is tailored to your event. Each event built will be part of its own unique mini-site, allowing administrators to create a set of web pages to support the event and registration process. Training on the ERS is provided by the TACC. For instructions, please see the Quick  Reference Guide on Using the TACC Event Registration System.

Web Conferencing

web/globe graphicAdobe Connect is a web conference tool that allows audio, video and multiple presentation types to be shared in one virtual meeting place. Document types such as PowerPoint and PDF can be accessed from one computer and viewed by the entire webinar audience. Presenters of a webinar can also stream live video of themselves into the meeting making for a more personal and engaging experience. Meetings conducted in Adobe Connect can be recorded and archived so that they may be viewed at any time after the original webinar has concluded. Adobe Connect also has a captioning feature. Adobe Connect’s reliability coupled with its ease of use helps members of the TA&D Network collaborate at a greater level of efficiency. The TACC offers free trainings on Adobe Connect every month.

TA&D Google Groups and Listserv

Email graphicThere is a Google Group (formerly a listserv) available for all members of the TA&D Network to join. You are invited to be a member of this Google Group and invite any or all members of your staff to join. Everyone who is a member of the group has the ability to send and receive messages to the entire group. The email address to send email messages to is taandd@googlegroups.com. To join the Google Group, please send a message to sscholl@fhi360.org, with "Join TA&D Network Google Group" in the headline. This group is used to exchange information with the TA&D Centers and their project officers at OSEP. The TACC works to ensure that all network centers are represented on the list.
